Sportradar Supports #Aces4BushfiresRelief Fundraising Efforts
In January this year, Sportradar teamed up with longstanding partner Tennis Australia to support their Aces4BushfiresRelief campaign throughout the Australian Open.
The initiative was launched in response to the bushfires that raged in Australia during their summer months. The campaign was simple. For every ace scored over the course of the competition, Sportradar pledged to donate $5 AUD to the Aces4BushfiresRelief fund. And, thankfully, there were some big hitters competing in the first Grand Slam of the year, so we were able to donate to a significant sum to the cause.
There were 5,390 aces scored at Melbourne Park this year during the main tournament, putting our contribution to the fund at $26,950 AUD. It’s important to remember that this is an ongoing tragedy and the bushfires continue to impact hundreds of thousands of lives in communities around Australia.
To date, the Aces4BushfiresRelief initiative has raised more than $6,000,000 AUD to help all those affected by the bushfires.
